A software
company normally prints 60,000 to 100,000 four-color shells for
the covers of its software manuals. Short runs of covers are
later over- printed in black to add titles and other information.
The company invested capital in the large
print runs, the inventory required warehouse space and makeready
spoilage increased wastage. As products reached the end of their
life cycles, the covers became obsolete. At times, products couldn't
ship because their previous printer couldn't meet delivery requirements.
DeHART's
solved the problem with their new digital technology. Now the
company prints only what they need, when they need it. The quality
remains high and there's no obsolescence or spoilage. On top
of it, the company saves over $7000 per month.
A local hospital was opening
new services to the Spanish and Vietnamese-speaking communities.
They knew that color would get their message across better, but
the cost was too high for the short run. They were behind schedule
and needed a mailing to coincide with the opening of the new
facilities.
Using traditional offset, they would have
had to print three or four times the quantity they needed to
get an affordable price and wait for a week or more for delivery.
They didn't have time to research all the new digital technology
alternatives that best fit their job. Some digital prices were
too high, PMS logo colors would be muddied and photographs would
be inferior.
Receiving
the files in Quark, DeHART's delivered the four-color, two-sided,
short print run in three days. Quality was excellent, PMS colors
true and the cost affordable!
A hardware manufacturer
had a new product that needed to reach the market quickly. They
required only a small quantity, but needed high quality.
DeHART's turned the new brochures
around in 24 hours.
A software company chose
two-color CD tray liners and inserts because four colors were
prohibitively expensive.
DeHART's
printed their small quantities of CD material in four colors
to match their packaging and manuals. They received high quality
on a short run for a cost-effective package solution.
A customer needed a quick
turnaround of a black plus PMS, full-bleed, 96-page, saddle-stitched
booklet with a four-color cover. No printer could meet their
deadline.
DeHART's
ran the book on its new digital press and delivered 3,000 booklets
in four days.
Since installing the new technology in
June, DeHART's is solving customers' problems of quality and
quick turnaround time in a cost-effective manner. DeHART's receives
files in a large variety of formats, outputs high-quality proofs
and, with it's full-service bindery, delivers the product to
the company or the end customer to meet all requirements. With
all work done at DeHART's, there are fewer suppliers to deal
with, project management becomes a snap and customers receive
a quality product.
